Randall Griffin's Top 10 Ways to Screw Up a Renovation - #9: CARPENTRY

#9: Carpentry - Cut Early & Often

Screw measure twice, cut once - that's boring! Try measuring once (or not at all) and then cut three times! (Or seven.)

Precision carpentry work is for idiots! Besides, no one will notice those huge gaps in your baseboard trim... And that lauan underlayment? No one is going to know it took seven pieces instead of one!

(Oh, wait a minute... someone might find out if you quit the job and leave all the flooring unfinished... But you'll be long gone by then!)

Randall Griffin's Top 10 Ways to Screw Up a Renovation - #10: Paint EVERYTHING!

#10: Leave Paint Over-Spray on Everything You Can!

One of the best ways to ensure a messy renovation job and unprofessional result is to not know how to use a spray gun. Or be too lazy to take the 1-2 minutes it takes to wrap, tape, or remove hardware and fixtures.

Cabinets
Life is short, so why waste time removing hinges from cabinets before painting them? Isn't it much better to make your client take a few hours to clean up the cabinet hardware after you've abandoned the job?

Ceiling Fan
Want to really baffle your client? Spray all over the nice ceiling fan in the master bedroom. They'll never see that coming! I mean, their only conclusion would be that you were piss drunk or just plain stupid to be able to do such a poor job, but what do you care?! Just spray away!

Recessed Lighting
Here's a trick that will help you stand out from the crowd of crooked contractors on Craigslist! Don't bother removing light bulbs (let alone covering recessed light fixtures) when painting a ceiling... just spray right over it!

Never mind that you agreed to clean each recessed can and then apply an appliance-grade high-heat white paint to recondition them... Just spray away!

Light Fixtures
Why waste the time covering over fixtures... who cares if your client wants to sell them or give them away. (You certainly don't care, that's for sure!) Just spray away!

Virginia Contractor Randall Griffin Abandons Project, Breaches Contract, and Steals Thousands

Randy Griffin of Manassas / Strasburg Virginia abandoned this townhouse renovation. While the contract called for a thorough cleaning of the house upon completion of the job, Randall Griffin instead left weeks worth of construction waste and fast food trash, wasted hundreds of dollars worth of supplies, and stole materials that were purchased for the job.

Wannabe contractor Randy Griffin offers features and details in his work found no where else! Good luck finding a contractor whose work habits are so sloppy that they will abandon your project with standing buckets of paint and water... with real breading mosquitoes!

Beware of unlicensed contractor Randall Griffin!

When we first met to discuss a house renovation, Randall "Randy" Griffin of Virginia said he would like a website. I had no idea then that it would turn out like this!

Randy Griffin is an unlicensed "contractor" illegally operating in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland.

We paid him a total of $28,950 to remodel a townhouse. After screwing up seemingly everything possible, he walked off the job with only about 50% completed (and that part was done poorly and unprofessionally we came to find out.)

Beware of Randall Griffin of Manassas / Strasburg Virginia!

This website will detail his despicable acts and the harm caused to our family.
